I am inspired by the human form. Clay is the vehicle of conversation between a contemplative soul and ‘One’ of wisdom. The making of these works is my journey beyond ordinary life into a meditative state. The arranging of fragmented body parts and symbols make the metaphors of life’s journey on earth clearer. The surfaces are stained with earth elements like iron and copper and encrusted with engobes and colored clay slips. They are layered with the surface treatments in multiple firings, in an electric kiln.
